Meet the Pastor
Rev. Lovelle A. McMichael, Sr. leads Greater New Hope Baptist Church with vision, compassion, and a heart for transformation. As a servant leader, he is committed to fostering spiritual growth, empowering families, and expanding the church’s reach into the community.
Since accepting the call in 2016, Pastor McMichael has guided Greater New Hope into new seasons of impact through initiatives such as the annual Leadership Symposium, Soul Winner Sundays, and strategic partnerships with local colleges, city organizations, and community programs. His leadership also birthed the Success Hope Center—a nonprofit dedicated to education, career development, and community empowerment.
Under his direction, Greater New Hope has strengthened youth ministries with tutoring, mentorship, and academic celebrations, while also launching the Greater Is on the Move Capital Campaign to renovate and expand the church’s mission footprint.
Beyond the pulpit, Pastor McMichael is an author, entrepreneur, consultant, and community advocate recognized nationally for his work in social justice, youth achievement, and faith-based leadership. His honors include the Thurgood Marshall Award of Merit, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Living the Dream Award, and Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.
Above all, he is a devoted husband to our Leading Lady Rev. Dr. Angie Williams-McMichael and proud father of two sons, Lovelle Jr. and Logan. Pastor McMichael embodies the belief that God blesses us so we may be a blessing to others—leading Greater New Hope forward in faith, service, and love.
