Matthew 22:37-39
Like a Good Neighbor, God is Always There!

Main Idea:

Just as a good neighbor is present in times of need, God is always there for us. He calls us to show up, provide, and see with His heart.

1. Presence – "Show Up"

Luke 10:30-37 (The Good Samaritan)

  • The priest & Levite ignored the wounded man. The Samaritan showed up and acted.
  • Application: Are you present for those in need?

Reflection: Do you see pain but walk away, or do you step in?

2. Provision – "Supply the Need"

James 2:15-17

  • Faith without action is dead. Love is not just words but action.
  • The Samaritan bandaged wounds, paid for care, and ensured healing.
  • Application: Who in your life needs support?

Reflection: Are you willing to be the vessel through which God provides?

3. Perception – "See with the Heart"

1 Samuel 16:7

  • The world judges by appearance; God judges by heart.
  • Jesus loved the outcasts—tax collectors, sinners, the broken.
  • Application: Do you judge others, or do you see them through God’s eyes?

Reflection: Is there someone you've written off because of their past or status?

Conclusion: Jesus—the Ultimate Neighbor

  • Jesus' love was always present, providing, and perceptive.
  • God is there for you in every moment:
    When you're disappointed
    When you're in need
    When you're lonely
    When making decisions

Final Takeaway:

  • Don’t weaponize your love—God loves freely, so should we.
  • Don’t hold back your love—God is always there, be present for others.
  • Love God, love yourself, love each other.

Prayer: “Lord, help me to love as You love, see as You see, and be present as You are always present in my life. Amen.”

Call to Action: Be the hands and feet of Christ. Show up, meet needs, love without limits.
